A warm and sunny morning at Perth’s iconic Yagan Square set the scene for the official launch of the WA Stone Fruit season.

FROM 8.00am, a pop-up sampling activation treated hundreds of city commuters to a taste of fresh, locally grown WA stone fruit now in season and available in stores. With a branded marquee, banners and staff in WA Stone Fruit aprons, the activation created a vibrant and engaging presence in the heart of the city.
The Buy West Eat Best team joined the morning festivities, helping to spread the message about choosing local produce. The Nova Street Team also attended, with their visit supported by a pre recorded radio segment that aired during the morning commute to promote the event.

The ripe and ready-to-eat peaches were smelling delectable.

Kim Starkie, WA Stonefruit IDO, speaking with commuters about the season, where to source fruit and how to recognise WA grown.
Adding to the buzz, the Yagan Square Digi tower showcased eye catching stone fruit imagery throughout the activation.
A variety of delicious fruit was sampled, including juicy nectarines, peaches, plums and cherries. Commuters were encouraged to ask questions and learn more about the WA regions where stone fruit is grown, as well as the range of fruit available throughout the season.
In total, around 900 fresh ripened pieces of stone fruit were handed out, with overwhelmingly positive feedback from commuters. The activation delivered strong engagement and valuable connections with the local community, marking a successful and high-energy start to the WA Stone Fruit season.
Thank you to the growers who took time out of their busy schedules to attend and speak to the community and share their knowledge. Thanks also to the team from Yagan Square and Buy West Eat Best who supported the event.
