Anglicare WA’s Christmas Appeal
It’s that time of the year where you are thinking about work Christmas parties, what to buy for the newest member of the family, and who is going to bring the sweets.
But for many families Christmas can bring more stress and anxiety than merriment and cheer. It can even bring fear and outright danger if there is a perpetrator of violence in the home.
No child should have to try to understand the complexities of family and domestic violence, but some children are forced to.
Anglicare WA’s Young Hearts is a free counselling service offered to children who have experienced family and domestic violence. The counselling directly addresses the needs of each child, helping them to process and heal from their trauma while starting to imagine a brighter future.
This service has been created and offered in the hope of not only helping the child but stopping the intergenerational cycle of family and domestic violence once and for all.
Violence in the home is never acceptable.
If you also believe this to be true, you can help by supporting Anglicare WA’s Christmas Appeal. Your gift this Christmas will ensure that Young Hearts can continue to help young lives heal from trauma they should never have been exposed to.
It costs $75 to provide a counselling session free of charge to a child. Your gift today will make a genuine difference to a family in crisis.
