NEW VegNET Innovation funded Project
The Protected Cropping Starter Pack project in Western Australia aims to provide comprehensive support and resources for growers through a series of workshops and by building a community of practice network for WA growers.

OPPORTUNITIES include Workshops training, subsidised membership to Protected Cropping Australia. Fully subsidised staff training, and access to specialists in the wider industry.
The project is structured around four key focus areas, each designed to address different aspects or stages of protected cropping.
1. Introduction, Start-up, Transitioning, and Systems Design:
Three regional workshops focused on the fundamentals of protected cropping, including initial setup, transitioning from conventional in field systems, and systems design.
2. PC Systems Efficiency:
Two live training workshops for existing growers to improve their efficiencies of protected cropping systems through practical, hands-on training sessions.
3. Scale Up, Update, and New Technologies
Two workshops to cover the scaling of operations, integrating new technologies, and keeping updated with industry innovations.
4. Quality, Value Chains, and Understanding the Economics :
One workshop focusses on improving product quality, optimizing value chains, and the economic aspects of protected cropping.
