Verticillium wilt is a soil-borne fungal disease of many vegetables that enters the plant through the roots. Infection with this fungus causes dieback and the leaves to wilt. Fusarium wilt is a common vascular wilt fungal disease, exhibiting symptoms similar to verticillium wilt. The pathogen that causes fusarium wilt is fusarium oxysporum (f. Oxysporum).
